However, a big bonus of buildings is that unless you're in a tiny building, you wont see squads getting insta-killed by a single nade. If your troops exit the building when the grenade is thrown, they will take some hitpoint damage, but none of them will die (even though they're outside the building). Grenades, even Allied nuclear pineapples, will sometimes kill off half a squad, sometimes just wounding it (depending on the size of the building). Troops in buildings can be both vulnerable and very good against grenades. For the purposes of this guide, a huge hole in the wall is a window. Keep in mind, when I say "windows" I mean "anything troops can shoot out of". As such, consider using higher-quality, low-squad-size troops in a building. Use ALT to look at the building before making a decision to use it as a hard defensive position. The amount of troops that can fire back is dependent on how many windows are on the side with the enemies in it. If the enemy comes from a side with no windows on it, you wont be able to shoot back. If it's a proper building, it will protect you fairly well. Flimsy wooden shacks don't stop bullets, and they have few windows. If it's a shack, do not enter it, as your troops will get destroyed. Use common sense when entering buildings, as Relic did an amazing job modeling the effectiveness of various buildings for garrisoning purposes.
